Four-Bedroom House with Pool and Roof Garden, Konia, Paphos

The plot at Konia is narrow. The usual answer is a box in the middle with a strip of garden left over on each side. This house does the opposite. It is pushed hard to one edge, and what it gives up in width it takes back as a walled courtyard: a seven-metre pool, a timber deck, and a covered terrace that opens straight off the living room.

From the lane the house gives away very little. A stone base, a slatted gate, planting along the boundary. Inside, the whole ground floor faces its own water.

Three levels, one stair. Living, kitchen and dining at the bottom. Bedrooms above. On top, a roof garden with a pergola and an outdoor kitchen, and from that height, the sea.

Underfloor heating throughout, photovoltaic panels and solar hot water, aluminium glazing in RAL 9007, and natural limestone of the region to the base and boundary walls.
